To fall apart and to reconstruct
A version of yourself you’re not used to seeing
Lonely days waiting for notice
Inspiration awaiting the tick of the clock to ignite some action
But your legs crumble at the thought of moving
The path is uncertain and you don’t know what you will see
When faced with the reflection of who you’re supposed to be
The sparkle that once was there
Still shines, but shines so deep
Buried in thoughts that no one can hear
Clouded by doubts, insecurity and fear
When you are stripped bare and taken apart
Piece by piece until you know who you are
What you are made of
And you are reminded it is still your choice
What stays in, what has served its purpose and how to evolve
To a new version of you, reconstructed, imperfect, raw but alive.
